One more method as suggested below is setting the &quot;Keep deleted mailboxes&quot; option to 0 days and then running the cleanup agent on that mailbox store</description>

		<description>I had a similar problem when deleting 200 mailboxes for expired accounts in prep for a domain migration (Win2003) - a handful of mailboxes would not purge after deletion, with  &quot;..already reconnected to an existing user&quot; message.

Resolved by: (ADUC) re-Enable AD account &gt; Create Mailbox (target original server/store).  Then Delete Mailbox &gt; Disable account.   (ESM) Run Cleanup Agent &gt; Purge mailbox.</description>
